About Me
I was born in Columbia, South Carolina but was raised San Antonio, TX. I began playing the cornet at age 13 as a 7th grader at Poe Middle School. I attended and graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1993. Later, I attended and graduated in 2004 from Texas State University-San Marcos earning a bachelors in exercise and sports science.
During that time in 2001, while working on my undergrad, I began studying jazz piano under the tutelage of Ray Charles's former musical director Dr. James Polk. In 2009, I earned another bachelors in psychology from the same university. Also in 2009 I enlisted in the US Army as a bandsman.
As an Army bandsman I performed in a number of different ensembles such as jazz combo, big band, ceremonial band, and the brass quintet. While serving I also earned my masters in business administration from the University of Phoenix. I served a total of seven years in the military and was honorably discharged in 2016. In February of 2019 I enrolled into the 1-Year Acting for Film Program at the New York Film Academy - Los Angeles Campus.
In May of 2019 I released my first ebook The Hexatonic Soul Scale: An Alternative to the Blues Scale, and in August of 2019 I released the paperback version of my book. In May of 2020 I completed the 1-Year Screenwriting Program at the New York Film Academy. Also in October of that year, I released my trademark clothing line JAZZ...IMPROVISE AT WILL.
